Luna will guide you through the process of patching up a hole in a garment via the reverse applique technique. You’re welcome to bring your own garment that needs mending or use fabrics provided. While practical at sealing pesky raw edges, it can provide a striking decorative flair with the use of contrasting thread and fabric.
This technique has a pervasive history and has been used all over the world since time immemorial. In some cases, its use is a practical mending choice and in others a highly complex, designed, decorative art. Join us at FCCW as a way of continuing this tradition.
At the end of the class we will have a free time where you are welcome to continue practicing the reverse applique technique, as well as getting hands on help from Luna about any particular mending or sewing question.
All skill levels are welcome from beginners to seasoned sewists!
